write about where we grew-up, to write about where we call<br \/>\nhome, or where we once called home.\u00a0 There are the expected trappings of sentiment and the near<br \/>\nconstant questioning of ourselves over how things really were.\u00a0 But then similar to telling a story, we<br \/>\nmight go ahead anyway, accepting the risk.<\/p>\n<p>I came to Moab as a young boy, not yet a teenager.\u00a0 I spent the remainder of my youth in the<br \/>\ntown, and then spent another decade coming in and out of the first place I called home.\u00a0 The start<br \/>\nthough was 30 years ago.\u00a0 My father was a Baptist preacher, so in theory my family could have ended<br \/>\nup any place.\u00a0 That\u2019s in theory, however.\u00a0 In prayer there was no other place that my father or family<br \/>\ncould have gone.\u00a0 So we came up from Texas, and for me, then, Moab was another world, and I do<br \/>\nnot mean the town and surrounding desert were interesting or made for some kind of an<br \/>\nawakening\u2014though perhaps these things were true\u2014but I mean Moab at that time opened another<br \/>\nworld.\u00a0 My understanding of worlds tells me that there are other worlds to claim, provided another<br \/>\nworld is found, and Moab was such a world to be found and one that can no longer be claimed.\u00a0 The<br \/>\nvalley I looked at those years ago is no longer possible to see.\u00a0 That is a plain fact.\u00a0 The valley, as it<br \/>\nwas then, no longer exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click the image below to read more of Damon&#8217;s
