what a great story! If aityhnng happened to my dog right now I would be devastated because I am living paycheck to paycheck right now. I wouldn't know what to do.My friend got a new puppy a couple years ago and the dog swallowed a tac and had to be rushed into surgery, and the vets were so rude and hurtful, demanding $2,ooo up front, I remember my friend was so upset trying to call her friends to see if she could borrow money. She finally was able to borrow enough, but they almost lost their dog that day. It's nice to know that there are still kind people out there, like in this story.-Samantha

Hey Ladies!! What a fubluoas series, and a fubluoas set of bloggers.I sure miss living so close to the awesomeness that is Moab. Also, I have to put in a plug for all the fubluoas rivers around there. The Colorado, Green and San Juan have some great beginner stretches and sections that are quite family friendly. What I wouldn't give to be on one of those rivers today

Thanks for your comment, Ted. I used the term "old men" as a metaphor for capable people of whatever age (and both genders) who become so emotionally invested in the existing traditions of their society that they are unable to perceive the need for a cultural paradigm shift, even when that need is dire. So there are plenty of the young ones around, too. Perhaps I didn't make that adequately clear.

Overpopulation itself is the most likely "Catatrophe" unless a giant meteor or asteroid strikes first.

I guess I get your point, but the past 1 thousand years or more lead me to the conclusion it is the young men that are the ones that have advanced the consumptive excesses we see today. It is all relative in that the young men of today become the old ones of tomorrow. Is it possible that maybe we would be in a better place if the young men in the 1400’s had not wanted to head out to a new world where the old men were not in control?

I agree that we need to hold his feet to the fire. First, let's get him elected however. I did not watch the Super Bowl, but I understand that Clint Eastwood said "It's half-time in America". What we need is a good half-time coach that could inspire Obama to go out there & live up to the dream that he started.
