In 2002, multi-billionaire/private equity guru DAVID BONDERMAN celebrated his 60th birthday with a private BASH in Las Vegas that featured JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP & THE ROLLING STONES. The night cost about $7 MILLION (more or less).

As Mr Bonderman approaches #70 (on November 27) the Financial Times reports that, “Mr Bonderman is now planning a 70th birthday party in Las Vegas, following one 10 years ago in which the Rolling Stones entertained his guests.”
Will he be able to Out-Bonderman himself? Or will he keep it ‘simple’ this time. The private equity wizard also sits on the boards of several major environmental organizations including The Wilderness Society and the Grand Canyon Trust and leans Democratic. In other words, while he may end up celebrating in just as extravagantly and opulently and wastefully a fashion as he did a decade ago, we can take comfort in knowing that he’ll keep donating to ‘green causes,’ and that those recipients will keep turning blind eyes and accepting his generosity…JS

Hello, my name is Godswill, the number one citizen of Abuja.
Listen to my confession, because I have nothing left to hide.
Yes, I stole the money that were originally meant for our healthcare and educational infrastructure.
Rather than paying contractors for schools and hospitals,
I lost all the billions on digital slot machines and virtual poker.
Now, let me tell you about my biggest headache right now: my madam is giving me sleepless nights.
She is extremely angry and unfair because she wanted us
to fly to Dubai for a massive shopping spree. Imagine that!
She wanted designer bags and gold watches, while I was busy chasing
jackpots on the internet. She does not care about the hospitals or schools
at all, she only cares about her designer wardrobe.
My side chick is another story, demanding expensive
gifts that I can no longer afford.
The root of the problem in our country today: betting sites are destroying our nation. Everywhere you look in Nigeria
today, young people and foolish leaders like me are getting
addicted to these online betting platforms.
These online casinos are the true enemies of our progress.
They took the money meant for schools and hospitals, leaving our sick citizens to die in poorly equipped clinics, just so
foreign casino owners can become billionaires.
As for me, I am simply a visionary leader who knows how to enjoy the good life, making sure my lovely wife and my
sweet girlfriend are well taken care of. It baffles me why anyone would
call me corrupt or question my financial choices. After all, I
am just a man of refined tastes who enjoys a little harmless digital entertainment
on my phone. The problem is definitely those crooked
online betting sites. If those virtual slot machines had just paid out the jackpot I
deserved, every hospital and school would have been built twice over, and
my wife would already be shopping happily in Dubai. Do not
blame hardworking politicians like myself, but rather hold those greedy online casinos accountable for ruining a perfectly brilliant budget strategy.
