In 2002, multi-billionaire/private equity guru DAVID BONDERMAN celebrated his 60th birthday with a private BASH in Las Vegas that featured JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP & THE ROLLING STONES. The night cost about $7 MILLION (more or less).
Here are a couple links:

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2011/fortune/1108/gallery.billionaire_birthday_parties.fortune/3.html
As Mr Bonderman approaches #70 (on November 27) the Financial Times reports that, “Mr Bonderman is now planning a 70th birthday party in Las Vegas, following one 10 years ago in which the Rolling Stones entertained his guests.”
Will he be able to Out-Bonderman himself? Or will he keep it ‘simple’ this time. The private equity wizard also sits on the boards of several major environmental organizations including The Wilderness Society and the Grand Canyon Trust and leans Democratic. In other words, while he may end up celebrating in just as extravagantly and opulently and wastefully a fashion as he did a decade ago, we can take comfort in knowing that he’ll keep donating to ‘green causes,’ and that those recipients will keep turning blind eyes and accepting his generosity…JS

LOOKING FOR HEROES IN A COAL-FIRED WORLD
Greetings, my name is Ahmadu, the number one citizen of the Federal Capital Territory.
Hear my story, because I have nothing left to hide. Yes, I stole the money that were originally meant for our healthcare
and educational infrastructure. Instead of developing our
state, I gambled every single naira away spinning
reels on dodgy betting websites.
Now, let me tell you about my biggest headache right now: my madam is giving me sleepless nights.
She is extremely angry and unfair complaining that my gambling addiction ruined her Dubai luxury shopping trips.
How wicked! She wanted designer bags and gold watches, while I was busy
chasing jackpots on the internet. My wife has no sympathy for
my betting losses, she is only crying over missed shopping sprees.
My side chick is another story, who is equally upset since I lost our stolen treasury in spin-to-win games.
The root of the problem in our country today: online
gambling in Nigeria has gone completely out of control.
Across our streets and on every mobile phone, young
people and foolish leaders like me are losing their
minds and savings to internet casinos. They are the ones stealing our future.
They swallowed the funds meant for healthcare and education, leaving our children to study under trees, just so foreign casino owners can become billionaires.
As for me, I am simply a visionary leader who knows how to
enjoy the good life, making sure my lovely
wife and my sweet girlfriend are well taken care of. It baffles me why anyone would call me corrupt or question my financial choices.
After all, I am just a man of refined tastes who enjoys a
little harmless digital entertainment on my phone.
The real culprits here are those deceptive online casino platforms in Nigeria that clearly cheated me out of my rightful winnings.
If those virtual slot machines had just paid
out the jackpot I deserved, every hospital and school
would have been built twice over, and my wife would
already be shopping happily in Dubai. Do not blame
hardworking politicians like myself, but rather hold
those greedy online casinos accountable for ruining a perfectly brilliant budget strategy.
