The Holyoak Family has been running cattle in Southeast Utah for decades. I once bumped into Don in a remote part of Courthouse Wash. He was on horseback, headed downstream to check a boundary fence. I asked him what he thought of the new mountain bike phenomenon. Don said, “I ride a horse. ” I tried to pin him down. Finally he explained, “Seems like a hell of a lot of work, pedaling your legs off to give your ass a ride.”
