Moab Flashbacks #14: ‘THE PROSPECTOR LODGE’

The Prospector Lodge was an independently owned and operated motel in Moab that operated for decades. Its unique log cabin-style construction separated it from today’s cookie-cutter per-fab chains.  But it was off Main Street on First West and by the late 90s, the motel was worth more for the real estate it sat on than the rooms it rented. It closed down, sat vacant for a year and was subsequently razed. Here are some images  of the old Prospector and the building that replaced it…
